About Comeback Academy - Meet Owner Kevin Comeback

Kevin Comeback is a former elite hockey player turned coach, advisor, and entrepreneur dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes on and off the ice.

Kevin’s journey began early, earning his first college scholarship offer at just 13 years old—an early sign of the high-level potential that would define his career. He was later drafted into the United States Hockey League by the Waterloo Black Hawks, one of the top junior programs in the country.

At St. John's High School, Kevin became one of the most dominant players in the state, recording over 100 points across two seasons and establishing himself as a premier offensive talent.

He went on to play NCAA hockey as a true freshman, where he built a consistent and impactful college career—averaging just under a point per game over four seasons. Known for his hockey IQ, skill, and competitiveness, Kevin translated his success into both athletic and academic achievement, graduating in 2016 with a business degree.

Shortly after college, Kevin founded Comeback Academy and Comeback Hockey, driven by a mission to give players the tools, knowledge, and opportunities he gained throughout his career. Today, he works with athletes at all levels—helping them develop elite skills, navigate their hockey path, and ultimately “Own Their Comeback.”

Comeback Hockey is built to develop elite hockey players both on and off the ice through a structured, high-performance training system. Our programs are designed to meet players where they are and elevate them to the next level through proven methods, elite coaching, and real game-translatable development.

At the core of our system are our Skills-Based Development Programs, featured above:

  • Elite Skill Lab (Private Training): High-level 1-on-1 and small group sessions focused on elite edge work, puck control, shooting, and skating mechanics. This is where players build true separation skills.

  • Skill Assessment: A full evaluation of each player’s skating, puck skills, hockey IQ, and overall performance to create a customized development plan.

  • Tryout Accelerator: Designed to prepare players for high-pressure environments, giving them the confidence, pace, and execution needed to stand out at tryouts.

  • Team Skills Intensive: Structured practices for teams and organizations focusing on systems, habits, and game-real development.

  • Elite Summer Training Program: A complete off-ice and on-ice development system including speed, quickness, balance, conditioning, and elite puck skills—built to transform players over the summer.

Comeback Hockey Group is the umbrella that connects all aspects of development—training, teams, advisory, and education—into one system. Our mission is simple: build elite players without them needing to leave their home area.

CAPE COD COMEBACKS AAA PROGRAM

Our AAA program provides players with a true high-level team experience, including elite competition, structured development, and exposure opportunities. The Cape Cod Comebacks are focused on developing complete players who can compete at the next level—prep, junior, and college hockey.

COMEBACK ADVISORY GROUP

We guide players and families through the hockey journey. From team placement to junior and college pathways, our advisory group helps athletes make the right decisions, build their brand, and maximize opportunities both on and off the ice.

ONLINE SKILLS TRAINING (SKOOL PLATFORM)

Through our Skool platform, players gain access to a full library of elite skills training—stickhandling, shooting, edge work, IQ development, and off-ice training. This allows players to continue improving daily, even outside of scheduled sessions.
